The focus of our prophetic exegesis today comes from the book of Judges which takes place after the death of Joshua. Having survived the wilderness and crossed to the other side, the people appear to start off well by seeking instruction from the Lord but are soon depending upon themselves as they navigate without clear leadership.
The final verse in this book explains the state of humanity not just at that time but gives insight to the chaos the world and believers (humanity) find itself in today as we seek for answers to why things happen and unfold in ways that seem so out of control.
“In those days there was no king in Israel:
Every man did that which was right in his own eyes.”
Judges 21:25
A final note to the believer…we are without excuse because we have a KING; a LORD of Hosts; and the Precious Holy Spirit to lead us and guide us into all truth.
