Jeremiah was “sanctified-set apart” and “ordained-called to serve” as a prophet before he was formed in the belly and before he came out of his mother’s womb. This alone establishes time and purpose God has predestined for his life’s work and the life destiny of everyone born into this world. Although Jeremiah’s mother is not mentioned as a mother, we often know by revelation from God that God’s hand is upon our children, just as Moses’ mother saw he was a goodly or proper child and hid him (Exodus 2:2; Hebrews 11:23); many mothers like Samson or Samuel’s mother along with Elisabeth, the mother of John the Baptist and Mary the mother of Jesus who was visited by the angel, Ga-bri-el. (Judges 13:3; 1 Samuel 17:20; Luke 1:15 and 1:31) knew their children’s purpose was established by God.
