Love, to love and be loved, that is the one thing we all need and long for. While some look for love, what I have found is that love is always unexpected. When I least expect it, love enters my life like a cool breeze that settles long enough to get my attention. Although I may reject it at first or not recognize it when it comes, love has a way of blossoming as a sweet-smelling lingering savor. As a result, I’m in awe of love.
The Song of Solomon is a love song to humanity. Just like a newfound love it takes us through the steps of maturing and becoming secure with the “one” God has allowed to interrupt our lives. This happens so that we may experience Him.
True love is not a controlling relationship or a reference to a “soulmate.” When our “soul” or “emotions” control the narrative based on our feelings, the relationship is subject to them. Nor am I referring to a “brotherly” love that is obligatory. Instead, I am describing a life altering love that “gives” us a new direction. It sets our life on a path we never planned or saw coming.
God introduces us to His Love through His Son, Jesus Christ…“For God so Loved the world, that He Gave His Only Begotten Son….” (John 3:16)
“God Is Love”
