Our study of Job hinges on the following two scriptures of Self-Justification and Self-Righteousness: “Behold now, I have ordered my cause, I know that I shall be justified” (Job 13:18); and “So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.” (Job 32:1)
When we think that we are good, take heed that we deceive not ourselves for “there is none good but one, that is, God.” (Matthew 19:17; Mark 10:18)

Job 1:6-12; 2:1-7 highlights that Satan requires God’s permission to act and that God is the one who sets limits on what Satan can do and whom he can try. Our lives are only in the enemies hands if we give it to him.
